The Black Fort
Mike started digging around his backpack looking for either a sinchu root or the vial of "medical cocaine" labelled "Dr. White's Cure-All for Tooth-Aches, Wandering Uterus, and Restless Leg" he'd picked up in Three Trees, while Roberto and Po continued to Evaluate. Rather than close in, the Black Centurion kept his distance and beckoned his horse over. Roberto stepped up and shanked the horse twice to try and injure it, but rolled low damage, and it passed its roll to avoid spooking.
The Black Centurion put himself between his horse and the party, and Roberto and Po both held back, Evaluating, until the Centurion Quick-Mounted, and started to ride away. Mike found the medical cocaine, while Roberto missed the horse's groin with a thrown knife. Po realized he couldn't catch up and took a break, while the Navajo fired a volley of arrows, and one crit the Centurion.
Mike "drank" the cocaine and found himself numb to his pain and full of energy! Roberto drew another knife as the Centurion turned and charged the Navajo, taking out two with a pair of swings. Mike sprinted towards the fray and launched an All-Out Jump Kick which the Centurion barely dodged. In return, the horse bit Mike, and the Centurion landed three blows to his skull for 52 injury, sending him instantly past four death checks.
As he staggered toward the fight, Po shouted at Mike to punch the horse in the face. Thanks to the cocaine, Mike ignored both Shock penalties and Po's advice, and made a Sweeping Kick instead, which the Centurion parried. Roberto made it beside the Black Centurion just in time to get Feinted for 13 degrees and slashed across the skull for a minor wound before the Centurion started to ride away, apparently deep in thought.
Foolishly, the Black Centurion had left his back exposed, figuring the party were too wounded to catch up. Mike landed a max damage jump kick to his back, while Roberto sprinted up and connected with one of his knives. The horse kicked Mike, then turned to allow the Centurion to attack Roberto, who was again Feinted and failed to defend against a blow to the torso which brought him just below zero.
Mike tried to Sweeping Kick the Black Centurion out of the saddle, but was parried again, while Roberto stabbed the horse in its legs some more. Po ran up behind the Black Centurion, then made a jumping, All-Out Attack, Mighty Blow Slam that knocked him off his horse and onto the ground. As the Centurion made it to his knees, his horse bit Po in the back and Mike jumped up on top of it to keep it from attacking anyone else.
Roberto stepped up to the Black Centurion and launched a Flurry of Blows Rapid Strike for 5 attacks. The first and second were parried, the third missed, but he crit failed the fourth parry, leaving his sword unready, and the fifth was a critical hit which finally sent the Centurion into the negatives. Sensing an opening, Po ran over to All-Out grab at the Centurion, who was unable to dodge.
The Black Centurion re-readied his sword, but Roberto stepped in and stabbed him twice in the neck, which finally took him out. He continued stabbing the corpse and yelling at it, asking where they'd taken his daughter, but the Centurion's corpse didn't respond. With that, the battle was finally done, and not a moment too soon: Mike passed out as his high ended.
The Navajo took their wounded and returned to their camp, ready to come to an agreement with the homesteaders. After a short rest, Dan and Mike woke up, and Dan claimed the Black Centurion's stallion as his own. Po told the surviving Black Riders, moaning on the ground and writhing in pain, to think about what they'd done, and that more evil acts would only lead to another asskicking.
The party returned the stolen cattle to the homesteaders, and explained the situation to the Harris and McGinty families over a celebratory dinner of squash. Though they still weren't sure what had happened to the woman in the white hat, the party rode off into the sunset towards the final challenge.
Hangman's Mesa
As Hangman's Mesa came into view, the party saw that there was a gondola up to the top, with room for maybe a dozen people, and 10-20 people in the orange robes sporting the purple foot of the Foot Clan working at the bottom. Rather than ride in and fight a bunch of mooks, the party decided to sneak around and climb up the back. Everyone climbed up easily enough (Roberto even crit), and arrived at the top of the mesa, behind a large pagoda.
On the other side of the pagoda, several dozen Foot Clan mooks were practising kung fu in a large stone courtyard. Two long, single-story building with slanted roofs flanked the courtyard, and the upper gondola station lay on the other end. The party discussed trying to climb up to the top floor of the pagoda and the "final boss room", but Po's inability deterred them.
Notes:
Roberto's player was absent, but that ended up working out, because Dan was unconscious the whole time.
The All-Out Attack variant of Jump Kick specifies that you must move "at least" half your Move, but doesn't specify an upper limit. I ruled it as half move (as normal for All-Out) + running Jump Distance (Jumping/4 or Move/2).
